Heir of Fire

If you've never read them before, the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas is wonderful. To this day I find myself in a bit of post-Potter depression still (I know...but most Potter fans can relate!) so I'm always keen to try new fantasy novels and series. If I'm being 100% honest, I never was much of a reader until HP. I devoured the first four books in something like two weeks in fifth grade and never looked back.

I first stumbled upon Throne of Glass when it came up on a random search on Amazon. Essentially the story is about Cealana Sardothian, a master assassin, who is pulled out of a slave camp to compete to become the King's Champion. However Cealana isn't just an assassin... there is much more to her story then that.

What I love about the story is that Cealana is a warrior, she isn't a fairy-tale princess that needs saving. You can bet that she would sooner save herself. I also adore the fact the author gives a love story, without the love story being the whole premise of the book... Let's be honest, we all love a little romance. I just love when you can have a story about a heroine and that not be what the whole story becomes about.

Heir of Fire is the third book in the six part series. Fantastically written as it explores the complications of various relationships and the hazardous game of kingdoms and thrones.

I would recommend reading the first two books- Throne of Glass and and Crown of Midnight. A bit of a lighter read for fans of Game of Thrones for sure. Other similar titles would be Graceling, Hunger Games and The Mortal Instruments series.

Generally Geeky

I like to think I'm something of an eclectic person. My TV show range goes from Scandal to the Bachelor to Arrow. But the thing I've figured out is that I love a good story. If that comes through a book or a movie or a TV show. I don't care how it's delivered. This space is dedicated to all of those things. Random books, movies and TV shows will be explored here. I hope anyone that may stumble upon this page loves a good story like I do! Leave me comments! I love a good suggestion for anything!
